Suzuki has revealed their plans to launch the next generation of the iconic Suzuki Swift later this year.
While the Suzuki is keeping relatively tight-lipped about the next generation Suzuki Swift for the UK, the Japanese manufacturer have released some details about the Japanese version. This gives us some indication of what we can expect for the UK launch.
While this is a new generation of car, Suzuki have made sure to keep the Swift’s distinctive look in mind. But that’s not to say the new model is a carbon-copy of the old one. The new Suzuki Swift has been modernised, with sporty, sharper lines. This includes emphasised wheel arches, and a deep front spoiler, creating a more aggressive appearance. In terms of size, the new Suzuki Swift looks slightly larger than its predecessor, increasing practicality. It also appears to sit lower to the ground, adding to the striking styling.
Safety and Technology
As you’d expect from Suzuki, the new Swift is set to be packed with the latest in on-board and safety technology. This will include brake support, adaptive cruise control as well as the full range of infotainment technology.
It seems a mild hybrid version will also be available, including SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki), cutting CO2 emissions and increasing fuel efficiency.
Fun to Drive
Dale Wyatt, Suzuki’s UK sales and marketing director, claims the images undersell the new Suzuki Swift. He also stated “lightness and a fun drive will be the focus. Having the practical Baleno allows us to look at the dynamics of the Swift.” This hints at the new Suzuki Swift being a more dynamic and engaging driving experience.
The new Suzuki Swift will be making its European debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show in March. To find out about the current Suzuki Swift, contact our Suzuki Sales Team at our Effingham Showroom in Surrey.
