Hyundai Sponsors Ski Jumping

Hyundai signs ski jumping deal

Hyundai is hoping to jump ahead of its rivals with an eye-catching new sponsorship deal – by supporting ski jumping competitions around the globe!

The two-year deal sees Hyundai become the key sponsor of the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, and the main sponsor of the FIS Sky Flying World Championships. The deal will see Hyundai branding feature prominently in more than 80 ski jumping events around the world.

The deal kicks off soon, with the round of the FIS Sky Flying World Championships in Vikersund, Norway. Over the next two years, Hyundai will sponsor the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup series 2012/13 and 2013/14, the FIS Ski Flying World Championships 2013 and 2014, and the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2013.

Ski jumping is a spectacle many are familiar with, but ski flying takes it to the next level. It is performed on the highest hills in the world and generates the longest jumps you can get. A skier called Remen Evensen set the world record last year, with a massive jump of 246.5 metres.

Vikersund is home to the largest ski flying hill in the world: there are only five such hills throughout the globe. This means Hyundai’s two-year headline sponsorship deal is set to take off with a bang.

“Hyundai is excited to be a part of this thrilling sport,” said S.T. Kim, Senior Executive Vice President and COO of Hyundai Motor Co. “We believe the bold and challenging spirit of ski jumping fits perfectly with our brand and our cars.”

Hyundai owners and fans can look forward to hearing plenty more from this exciting new sponsorship deal. “FIS is pleased to welcome Hyundai on-board as an official partner of the leading FIS Ski Jumping events” said Gian Franco Kasper, President of FIS.

“We look forward to delighting the customers and fans of Hyundai with the exhilaration of the world’s best ski jumpers’ performances.”
