The Hyundai i40 has celebrated its one year anniversary since launch by picking up yet another accolade – this time as “Company Car of the Year” in Germany.
The gong was presented by Firmenauto and the vehicle inspection and appraisal organisation, DEKRA. A panel of more than 100 industry representatives based their decision on three key attributes of the car: driving performance, comfort and cost.
The jury recognised the Hyundai excelled in each of these areas and awarded the i40 first prize, adding to its now-bulging trophy cabinet. These have been awarded almost since day one.
Inside its first year on sale in Europe, the i40 has picked up 10 awards – including four for best estate car in the case of the i40 Tourer, two for best business/company car of the year, an innovation award, a gong for the strongest predicted residual values and two outright car of the year trophies.
Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor Europe, Alan Rushforth:
“The all-new Hyundai i40 is a flagship vehicle – our first model in the highly competitive D-segment family vehicle class that’s designed and engineered in Europe, for Europe.
“It’s quickly established itself as a true contender, celebrating its first anniversary by collecting another prestigious award – a great demonstration of our successful product strategy.”
