The British Touring Car Championship field took to the track last week in pre-season testing, ahead of the series’ opening round at Brands Hatch this bank holiday weekend. And here’s a taster of what’s to come over the year ahead…
It was Andrew Jordan who set the pace, but with the top three cars only separated by just over one tenth of a second, it looks like 2013 promises to be yet another super-close season.
The Honda Civic driver – also the reigning Independents’ Champion – set the fastest time in cool conditions at the Donington Park test day, ahead of two-time BTCC champion Jason Plato and current overall reigning champion Gordon Shedden.
So what can we expect from BTCC 2013? Drawing conclusions from the test day, some strong competition.
And in usual British Touring Car Championship fashion, expect plenty of drama, door banging and general entertainment for the huge crowds that come out and support their favourite teams and drivers in force.
The season kicks off on Easter weekend this Sunday at the Brands Hatch circuit in Kent.
