Facelift Suzuki Splash in Red

New Suzuki Splash making waves

Suzuki has launched its new 2012 Splash mini-MPV, updating the existing car to improve quality, equipment levels and design without increasing the price – the Suzuki Splash is still available from just £7,777.

The new car gets revised front and rear bumpers, as well as a refreshed bonnet and grille, giving the Suzuki Splash a stylish and vibrant look. Inside, the car receives higher quality seat fabrics, alongside a new graphite upholstery colour finish and a piano black centre console.

The compact yet spacious Suzuki gets a choice of two efficient petrol engines. The Japanese firm’s 68bhp 1.0-litre engine – now with variable valve timing to drop emissions even lower – returns 60.1mpg combined with just 109g/km CO2 emissions, meaning £20 road tax.

The larger 1.2 unit produces 94bhp giving excellent and nippy urban performance without compromising on fuel economy. An average 55.4mpg with 118g/km CO2 – equating to £30 road tax – means both variants of the Splash will be cheap to run, too.

The Suzuki Splash boasts an excellent reliability record and was found to be the car least likely to fail its first MOT from new, with a 90 per cent first pass rate.

The new car gets a comprehensive level of standard-fit equipment, including four airbags, an MP3 compatible stereo with wheel-mounted audio controls for the leather steering wheel, remote central locking, front electric windows and electric heated door mirrors.

Air conditioning also comes as standard on 1.0-litre SZ3 models and above, while top-spec SZ4 cars get 15-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and go and privacy glass for the rear windows and tailgate.

At fewer than 3.8 metres long, the Suzuki Splash boasts great manoeuvrability around town, but it doesn’t compromise on space. With seating for five, a maximum 573 litres of boot space with the 60:40 split folding rear seats down and five doors for easy access, practicality and flexibility are good.

The entry-level 1.0 SZ2 Splash costs £7,777 as part of Suzuki’s VAT-free offer. SZ3 trim starts at £10,065 while SZ4 spec cars begin at £11,105.

The VAT-free offer for Suzuki now runs until the 30th September. To find out the latest deals please visit T W White & Sons Suzuki showroom in Effingham, Surrey or visit the Suzuki Offers page on the T W White & Sons website.
