Suzuki Alto signwritten from £5995

Suzuki Alto is officially the UK’s most affordable car

The Suzuki Alto is now the cheapest car on sale in the UK, priced at £5,995. The Suzuki Alto VAT-free offer from Suzuki makes its Alto city car the lowest price vehicle on sale between the 2nd July and the 30th September.

The new price represents a further £670 saving for customers over previous Alto offers and means you can pick up the most efficient Suzuki city car ever at the Japanese firm’s best ever price.

The Suzuki Alto is powered by a 68bhp 1.0-litre engine that returns excellent efficiency of 65.7mpg combined with 99g/km CO2 emissions. Thanks to new dual variable valve timing on the Alto’s engine, it means the car gets free road tax and is exempt from the London congestion charge.

For a commuter travelling into the capital five days a week, running the congestion charge exempt Alto could save them £2,600 per year over an alternative city car producing more than 100g/km CO2.

Combined with the Alto’s superb purchase price is the car’s low running costs – high fuel efficiency, zero road tax and an insurance group rating of 4E means the little Suzuki will be particularly wallet friendly to buy and own.

That attractive price doesn’t come at the expense of quality or equipment levels, however. The Suzuki Alto received an 85 per cent pass rate for its first MOT after three years from new, proving its excellent reliability. Of the vehicles that didn’t pass first time, only a blown bulb was usually the culprit.

The £5,995 Suzuki Alto SZ trim level gets ABS, driver and passenger airbags, electric front windows and an MP3 compatible stereo system fitted as standard – a solid range of equipment for a vehicle of its price.

The latest Suzuki Alto SZ model also incorporates a refreshing new interior colour and fabric combination, as well as new wheel covers.
