The addition of the new iteration of the Hyundai i20 and Hyundai i30 to the Korean firm’s range has delivered a significant sales boost in 2012.
Hyundai has continued its excellent growth in the UK having recorded its highest ever June sales for the company, with 7,362 vehicles sold – 38.5 per cent more than this time last year.
The Hyundai i800 people carrier continued the trend for improved sales, recording its highest ever volume – 367 new registrations in June – while the latest i10 city car has proved to be Hyundai’s best seller so far this year, with 14 per cent more vehicles flying out of showrooms than by this point in 2011.
The fleet market has been particularly receptive to the firm’s Hyundai i40 saloon and Tourer models, too. Along with the i30, Hyundai has bucked the trend in a contracting fleet market in the UK, increasing fleet sales by over 41 per cent.
In a sector that’s entirely driven by numbers and volume, the statistical evidence shows Hyundai’s strength as a brand that offers, quality, performance and value for money.
President and CEO Hyundai UK, Tony Whitehorn: “We have had an exceptional first half to 2012 driven by our new products. Consumers are choosing Hyundai in increasing numbers, which is a real sign of the growing relevance of our brand.
“The new Hyundai i20, Hyundai i40 and Hyundai i30 have really raised the bar – offering style, refinement, efficiency and practicality. That combined with the peace of mind offered by our 5 Year Triple Care package, which includes a five year fully-transferable and unlimited mileage warranty, has ensured that we are really competitive.”
