We take it as a given that using a car is not exactly good for the environment, but whether for social use, pleasure, or work purposes, there are ways you can reduce the size of your carbon footprint – and driving a Mazda is the way to do it.

With its new cars the Japanese firm has designed them around its Skyactiv technology, designed to massively improve efficiency, while keeping its products rewarding and engaging to drive, as well as making safety a priority and everyday practicality a must have feature.

Take the all-new Mazda 6. A lightweight but high strength steel construction means range best efficiency of 67.3mpg combined with 108g/km CO2 emissions for the 150hp 2.2-litre turbodiesel model.

Using the same engine as found in the Mazda CX5 crossover – the first vehicle developed under the manufacturer’s Skyactiv banner – the Mazda 6 builds on tht vehicles amazing efficiency performance.

Returning 61.4mpg combined with just 119g/km CO2 emissions makes it by far and away the best performing vehicle in its class when it comes to environmental impacts – figures like this were previously unheard of in the crossover sector until the Mazda CX5 came along, breaking new ground in the class.

To help potential Mazda owners out there how they could benefit from the carmaker’s Skyactiv technology and the efficiency benefits it brings, the firm has devised an all-new Mazda app, which gives a full 360-degree view of the car, along with a CO2 comparison tool.

This means you can compare fuel economy, road tax costs and CO2 emissions against Mazda’s rivals, proving the worth of Mazda’s range of vehicles – there’s also videos with in depth explanations of the amazing new technology in the range.
