For the second year in a row, the All New Mazda 6 Saloon has beat off strong competition and won the ‘Best Family Car’ award at the annual Auto Express New Car Awards which were held in London on 15th July 2014.
Announcing Mazda6 as a repeat award winner, Auto Express editor-in-chief, Steve Fowler, commented: “The Mazda 6 saloon remains the best family car by some margin. Its sharp styling will turn heads and if you get a glimpse inside, you’ll see a driver grinning from ear-to-ear – this is a fantastic car to drive. On top of all that, it ticks the boxes buyers of these cars expect these days: it’s incredibly efficient, well made and has plenty of advanced kit on board.”
Sensible yet stylish, fast but frugal, the sharp handling and remarkably practical All -New Mazda 6 continues to impress. Unlike most rivals, Mazda have abandoned the workaday hatchback bodystyle in favour of a more sleek and sophisticated four-door saloon layout. Blessed with flowing lines, soft curves and taut creases, it gives the Mazda 6 real kerb appeal. The roomy interior is impeccably built and crammed with standard kit, while the well shaped boot has a healthy and practical 483-litre capacity.
Underneath the seductive exterior you’ll find Mazda’s award winning SKYACTIV technology, which boast a fuel-sipping, emission-busting engine. Combined with improved aerodynamics, vehicle weight reduction, chassis developments and improved new manual and automatic transmissions, Mazda’s SKYACTIV technology, which focuses on economy, safety and performance, promises to redraw the automotive landscape.
Mazda know they’ve hit the jackpot with their SKYACTIV technology and 6th Generation range, which in addition to the All-New Mazda 6 include the All-New Mazda 3 and All- New CX-5. All fitted with the groundbreaking SKYACTIV technology, Mazda have accumulated a whole host of awards already this year. The CX-5 trumped with What Car? Car of the Year 2014 – Best large SUV, and the All – New Mazda 3 came a close runner up to the Audi A3 in the World Car of the Year: 2014. Probably why Mazda have won the ultimate award and been named ‘Best Car Manufacturer’ at the 2014 Which? awards!
