**Please note: there is now an upgraded Mazda 2 Venture Edition model available**
With spring here and summer fast approaching, Mazda is celebrating the start of the sunny seasons with the release of the Mazda 2 Venture Edition, on sale now.
The Mazda 2 is the Japanese firm’s best-selling model in the UK, and it’s not hard to see why.
The Venture Edition is based on the five-door Mazda 2 Tamura and builds on that vehicle’s strong specification, adding a 5.8-inch touchscreen sat-nav system, Bluetooth phone preparation and air conditioning as standard.
Outside, the Mazda 2 Venture Edition sports a sophisticated look: 16-inch gunmetal alloys, sports body kit and front fog lights all feature, meaning the Mazda 2 Venture Edition will certainly stand out from the crowd.
To go with the contrasting alloys and bold sports styling, the Venture Edition is available in two unique colours – Dolphin Grey Mica and Burgundy Red Mica.
Four standard Mazda 2 colours are available on the Venture Edition, too: Crystal White Pearlescent, Brilliant Black, Aquatic Blue Mica and True Red.
The Mazda 2 Venture Edition is powered by the firm’s 84bhp 1.3-litre petrol engine, meaning 62mph comes up in 13.6 seconds from rest, offering peppy performance for a little supermini.
The cost of motoring is an important consideration, so thankfully the Venture Edition will also return 56.5mpg combined with CO2 emissions of just 115g/km; that means free road tax for the first 12 months and just £30 every year after.
Based on the Tamura trim level, the Venture Edition is safe, too – front, side and curtain airbags all feature, while remote central locking with deadlocks and a standard-fit Thatcham category 1 alarm mean peace of mind is assured.
Just 1,500 examples of the Mazda 2 Venture Edition will be made, and costing £12,995 – only £1,000 more than the standard Mazda 2 Tamura – this is a properly special vehicle that offers exclusivity at a seriously attractive price.
