The new Hyundai i10 city car has been unveiled ahead of its official debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
And it moves the city car segment on yet another step, thanks to some class-leading features the Korean firm is pioneering.
First up, the new Hyundai i10 will be even more spacious than before, but will still retain it’s easy to drive nature and amazing manoeuvrability.
The new car is 8cm longer and 6.5cm wider offering more passenger space inside – class-leading levels, in fact, according to Hyundai. The same is true when it comes to luggage space, as the boot is now 10% bigger than its predecessor at 252 litres even with the rear seats in place.
Alongside this extra practicality the new Hyundai i10’s driving dynamics will also be improved – the car is now 5cm lower and the wheelbase is 5mm longer, allowing for more stable, safe and secure handling, as well as a direct and engaging drive.
Hyundai is yet to outline the engine line-up that will power the new i10, but it’s thought that the latest Korean city car will get updated versions of both the current car’s 1.2- and 1.4-litre petrol engines, tweaked to produce a touch more power with the main focus on improving fuel economy even further still.
The new Hyundai i10 will also offer levels of equipment rarely seen on a city car, reinforcing the brand’s values of offering excellent value for money.
Certain trim levels of the forthcoming Hyundai i10 city car will be available with automatic climate control air conditioning, a heated leather steering wheel, cruise control with speed limiter and standard-fit electronic stability control (ESC) and front curtain airbags.
Quality is assured, too. The new Hyundai i10 has been designed and engineered in Europe for European drivers. To keep the theme going, it will be assembled at the Korean firm’s European production facility in Turkey.
