The Hyundai i40 Tourer has been voted Best Estate Car in Business Car Manager’s annual awards. The practical and stylish i40 Tourer will add this most recent award to its already lengthy list of accolades.
The i40 beat competition from the Ford Mondeo Estate, Volvo V50 and Skoda Octavia Estate to achieve success in its category.
The Hyundai i40 Tourer majors on efficiency, style and a combination of low running costs and high levels of practicality thanks to its Blue Drive engine, Fluidic Sculpture design language and large boot.
The 115bhp 1.7-litre turbodiesel unit returns 65.7mpg combined while emitting only 113 g/km CO2, meaning road tax of £30 per year. Despite its excellent efficiency, performance is still strong: 0-62mph takes a respectable 12.9 seconds and with 192lb ft of torque, in-gear acceleration is strong.
Combined with an insurance group rating of 11E, the Hyundai i40 Tourer is a cheap car to fuel, tax and insure, keeping all-important running costs down without sacrificing style.
A maximum boot space of 1,719 litres with the rear seats folded ensures excellent levels of practicality and flexibility. The i40 Tourer still retains a sizeable 553-litre load capacity with the rear seats up, meaning it’ll easily accommodate a family of four and luggage.
Such practicality undoubtedly played a big part in the judges’ final decision.
The car’s high efficiency has another benefit too. Company car drivers will only be subject to Benefit in Kind taxation rates of 13 per cent. With a competitive purchase price of £19,645, it’ll mean you’ll be paying just £637 per year at the 20 per cent income tax rate, or only £1,254 at the higher 40 per cent income tax level.
Add in Hyundai’s class-leading 5 Year Triple Care warranty package – giving five year’s unlimited mileage warranty, five year’s RAC roadside assistance and five year’s worth of vehicle health checks – the peace of mind owning the best estate car on sale today is assured.
