Hyundai i10 wins WhatCar? Car of the Year – Best City Car 2105
“This is the most practical car in the class and comes with alloys, air-con and Bluetooth as standard in our favourite Premium trim.” John McIlroy, Director of testing
The Hyundai i10 has once again stolen the show at the WhatCar? 2015 awards to be named Car of the Year in the Best City Car category.
Beating off hefty competition from others in the class including the VW Up, WhatCar? commented that the Hyundai i10 offers great practicality, class-leading refinement and loads of kit.
WhatCar? said their choice was the 1.2-litre petrol – which offered a wonderfully smooth ride, whiles being quick enough to keep up with larger traffic. They particularly raved about the Premium trim, which was praised for feeling suitably expensive inside, yet still costs less than £11,000, making the Hyundai i10 stunning value for money.
The success follows on from last year – where the Hyundai i10 was also awarded Car of the Year 2014. However, last year WhatCar? rated the SE model highest. This year, it’s the Premium model which has scooped the award.
WhatCar? said “Space and practicality used to be an afterthought in this class, but the Hyundai i10 has both in spades – and these helped make it our favourite city car last year. It gets the nod in our middle price point again. the i10’s four-cylinder 1.2-litre petrol engine is incredibly refined around town, it rides and steers nicely, and it’s remarkably easy to drive and park. The cabin is superb too, with high-quality materials, no bare metal, easy access front and back, and space for four adults to sit in total comfort.”
The i10 Premium is now available from just £10,310, which includes the impressive Triple Care Package (5 Year, manufacturer backed, unlimited mileage warranty, 5 Year RAC Roadside Assistance (available 24 hours a day) and 5 Years of Annual Vehicle Healthchecks)
